First Light
The sky on the night you arrived. A free birth chart app that draws your natal chart from the real sky over the place you were born, at the moment you arrived, with the clocks as they really were.
A chart made of real sky
- Qualified positions. Sun, Moon and planet positions have selected NASA JPL Horizons reference checks. Chiron comes from a Horizons table; houses, nodes and Lilith have separate Swiss Ephemeris checks. Supported birth dates are 1800–2100, with stated historical and geometric limits.
- The clocks as they were. Historical time zones and daylight saving from the IANA database, including war time, double summer time and local mean time before standard time arrived.
- The sky itself. See the stars, constellations and planets overhead at your birthplace, and turn the sky through the hours.
- Honest about unknown birth times. Without a time, readings show what holds across the possible birth day and which signs can change. The wheel illustrates local noon; unavailable angles and exact personal event dates stay open.
- Your way. Placidus, Whole Sign, Equal, Koch, Porphyry, Regiomontanus, Campanus or Alcabitius houses; tropical or sidereal (Lahiri, Fagan–Bradley) zodiac.
Inside
- Readings for every planet, sign, house and aspect, written to reflect on rather than to predict.
- Today: reflective questions beside transits to your chart, estimated exact crossings, and a countdown to your solar return when the birth time is known.
- A journal that keeps the sky with every entry, so you can later read a feeling beside the sky that held it.
- Other people’s charts, compared with yours ring on ring.
Questions
- Is it free?
- Yes. No accounts, no sign-up, no ads.
- Where is my birth data kept?
- Saved charts and journal writing stay in this browser; First Light does not upload those records. Loading the site and atlas files makes ordinary requests to its host, and Vercel Web Analytics receives page-visit metadata with the page query and fragment removed. You choose where to send any exported copy. Clearing browser storage can remove saved data, so keep a Carry copy before doing so.
- Does it predict the future?
- No. The readings are invitations to reflect. Nothing in a chart decides who you will be.
